One App Store QR code for every phone. iPhone users land on your App Store listing, Android users on Google Play, and everyone else sees a clean page with all your stores and a link to your website.
App codes are dynamic, so you create them in a free Qdestera account. Have your store listing links ready.
Copy the web addresses of your App Store and Google Play listings. Publish in more stores? Add them too – Huawei AppGallery, Galaxy Store or any store with a web link.
Choose App as the QR type, enter your app's name and paste the links. Add a fallback URL, usually your website, for people on a computer or another device.
Leave the automatic store redirect on to send iPhones and Android phones straight to their store, or switch it off to always show the store picker page.
Style the code with your colors, logo and a frame such as “GET THE APP”, then download PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF for print and screens.
A QR code can hold only one link, so the code points to a short link that checks the device and then decides where to go.
| Scanned on | Redirect on | Redirect off |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone | App Store listing opens | Store picker page |
| Android phone | Google Play listing opens | Store picker page |
| Computer or other device | Store picker page | Store picker page |
| Website link on the page | Yes | Yes |
Many apps still print two codes side by side: one for iOS, one for Android. People have to work out which one is theirs, some scan the wrong one, and the layout loses space for a real message. A single code with device detection removes that decision.
The store picker page is the safety net. If a phone is not recognized, if you only listed one store, or if you prefer people to choose, the page shows a button for every store you added – with its own name, such as AppGallery – and your fallback link underneath.
Everything behind the code is editable. Because it is a dynamic QR code, you can fix a listing link, add a new store or change the fallback page long after the posters are printed.
Put it wherever people meet your brand offline and the next step is your app.

Promote your loyalty or shopping app at the till, on receipts, shopping bags and shelf signs.
Table cards, takeaway bags and flyers that turn a single order into a regular app customer.
Print the event app code on tickets, badges and entrance signage so attendees install it before the doors open.
Invite customers to manage their account in your app, right on the paper they already read.
Posters, magazine ads, conference slides and TV screens: one code works for the whole audience.
Every scan is counted in QR code analytics. The operating system breakdown shows how many scans came from iOS and how many from Android, and you also see scans over time and by country and city.
Use a separate code for each channel – packaging, in-store poster, magazine ad – and put them in one folder. The comparison tells you which placement drives the most interest. Our guide on tracking QR code scans explains how to set that up.
Qdestera counts the scans of your code. Installs are counted by the App Store and Google Play in their own consoles.
On plans with a custom domain, the short link behind the code can use your own domain.
Copy the address from the store's web page, not a link from a developer console, and open each one in a private browser window to check it.
Point the fallback URL to a page that explains the app, so desktop visitors still learn what they are missing.
Automatic redirect sends every Android phone to Google Play. If many of your users have phones without it, switch the automatic redirect off so everyone picks their own store.
“Scan to get the app – first order free” works better than a bare code. Only promise offers you really run.
A logo in the center is fine if contrast stays high; see our tips for a QR code with logo.
Scan the printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone and make sure each lands on the right listing.
Create one app download QR code on the free plan and let it pick the right store for every phone.
Sign up for free, choose the App QR type and paste both store links. With the automatic redirect on, iPhones go to the App Store and Android phones to Google Play automatically.
They see the store picker page with a button for each store you added, plus a link to your fallback URL – usually your website.
Yes. Add as many extra stores as you need, each with a name and a link. They appear as buttons on the store picker page.
Just add that one link. Phones that match it are redirected, and everyone else sees the store picker page with your fallback link.
Tablets whose browser identifies as an iPhone or Android device are sent straight to the store. Tablets that open pages in desktop mode see the store picker page and reach the App Store or Google Play with one tap.
Yes. Switch the redirect off and every visitor sees the store picker page and chooses the store themselves.
Yes. Edit the links, add stores or change the fallback in your dashboard – the printed code keeps working.
You can create one on the free plan, no credit card required. The number of dynamic codes and the QR types included depend on the plan – see pricing.
Yes. Analytics show scans by operating system, so you can compare iOS and Android, alongside scans over time and by location.
No. The camera app on iPhones and most Android phones reads the code and opens the right store.
Create an app download QR code, update your store links any time and see which platforms scan.
